What customers say?

“ First ever visit to this cafe situated near the Village Maid pub + the pond in Lound. Lovely warm welcome and explanation as to the food + drink offerings. Oldie worldy furniture and chinaware makes for a homely feeling. Outside seating available roadside behind picket fencing. The two of us had scones, one cheese, other fruit with jam + clotted cream. As often we had a piece of each other's and agreed they were both excellent (we do jam first then cream in case you're wondering ). This was followed by a slice of lemon/raspberry/Elderflower cake and lime/coconut cake which we also swapped a piece, again both very nice, light textured, all washed down with latte coffee each (no need for swapping any here ). We will definitely return. ”

“ Very cosy, friendly local cafe. The service was very good with friendly, courteous staff. The coffee and tea were good quality and the atmosphere was very lively for a wet dreary morning in early autumn. There were 5 of us and we had the place to ourselves for about 10 minutes before it began to fill up. Every table was quickly occupied within 30 mins. A testament to the place. ”

“ Our first visit to mardles. Lovely little cafe with an assortment of tables and chairs. The two young ladies are very polite and friendly so very nice to see. We had cake and sausage rolls the tea and coffee. My tea in mug great start plus coffee. The tea is excellent and you have the bag left in so it's your choice how strong you make it. Make sure you hungry the cake is a really good slice, we had festive sausage rolls for Christmas sausage meat stuffing bacon and chutney delicious and fill your plate. A great place to eat we'll be back for more and an afternoon tea at sometime. Really recommend. ”
